My wife and I are so looking forward to delivering our new RT 31CB and we've been preparing her nest at our home. We previously housed a Formula 31 PC on our boat lift and have had it reconfigured to accommodate the RT, but I question the way the lift manufacturer has things arranged. They installed two "chocks" where the stern will be (about where the sling lifting points are located, I think), which seem unnecessary (https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1ytg...14-1.jpg?rlkey=d7x2j9p4jporvxuiq2xzh9xn2&dl=0). The only thing I can use for comparison is a trailer with bunks and no chocks. Has anyone had any experience with this sort of configuration?

Thank you!
Rob

My R29S lives on a lift behind my house. I’ve never seen a lift configuration like yours. The bunks on my lift simply sit on risers that raised them by approximately 18” in order to accommodate the keel. Without the risers, the prop may come into contact with the lift crossmembers when pulling out forward.

I can’t seem to find it right now, but there’s a lift configuration data sheet somewhere on the website that I gave to my lift company to guide the modifications.

My lift looks just like yours with the chocks in the back. The installer said it was to ensure the keel was protected properly. Works great.

Thanks to all for the replies! I can't picture how this will play out when we bring her home in the spring, but I'll trust the installer. They have asked to be here when we arrive, which is comforting.

One more question, Seadot. How much do those stern chocks increase the required water depth? Our creek can get a bit skinny and we often don't have much extra depth to play with.

R-31 Bunks for a lift
I have a drawing from Fluid Motion showing the design of the hull my lift installer used this is setting my bunks.

I can't seem to be able to post an image but if you IM me your email I can send the drawing to you.
