We're planning a trip to the Bradenton, Florida area in the near future. Would like info on finding a reputable company to lift boat off trailer and launch and return boat to trailer. Will also need to store trailer and truck approx. 1 month.

I can recommend N.E Taylor Boatworks in Cortez (West Bradenton} with no reservations whatsoever. Old traditional boatyard with great staff. They can handle the lift and launch with their travel lift and while they probably wouldn't store your truck and trailer there are several u-store it places within a mile or two. There is also a pretty good seafood restaurant and fish market on the property.

I had them do the bottom on my EC-21 last spring. They did a great job on the bottom and were very accommodating when it came to me polishing the topsides myself and when I unexpectedly needed to stay at their limited dock space for a couple of days after the launch.

When I went to settle up my bill was 20% less that their original estimate. That's a first in my nearly forty years of dealing with marinas and boatyards. Really decent, honest people and, unfortunately, somewhat of an exception around here.

If you have any questions feel free to ask here or send me a p.m. I've been in this area off and on for thirty years.

This also seems to have turned into my introductory post. I'm a lifelong sailor with more than twenty five years of liveaboard experience, much of that spent cruising. The Ranger is my first venture on the dark side.

I've been lurking here for most of a year and finally joined a few months ago but this was the first time I felt I had anything to contribute to the forum. Tugnuts forum has been an invaluable resource of information and the inspiration for a number of modifications to my boat, thanks everyone.

P.S My forum name, Nutter, was also the maiden name of one of my grandmothers.

Pam and Frank, I live in the area. Don't have a boat so can't comment on marinas with any experience, however I am happy to help however I can. Send me a message if need be.
