Finally did a Xmas parade in the boat - all well except for the almost T-boned a Morgan 41 - whose running lights were the size of quarters.

Takeaway is when your boat has colored lights along with all the other boats - add to that reflections on the inside windows - your pretty much blind - “pass yellow blinking to port” sure! What??? Where??

Vision did improve when I stuck my head out locomotive style… I can really see the advantage of a fly ridge now…

The R27 dash needs some redoing - hard to see any acc switches. Need to find how to put tiny led’s so I can see.

Overhead red’s need to be selectable…

Radio is in a poor position - low and the wheel intrudes - better to mount high …

In daylight it’s better obviously.

Lots of little tweaks

We had a glorious sunset and a romantic blue moon

We have a 2016 R-27 and that is my biggest complaint about the boat!
The radio is in a terrible location; too low to read the display, and award to change the channels when needed.
I added another VHF overhead to the bottom of the starboard storge cubby along with another antennaon the port side of the cabin roof.
Acutually had it done and it was no fun stringing the coax to the radio.
Well worth it in the end
Merry Christmas,
Bill
