The Ft Lauderdale boat show is coming up here in Fl next month...according to the web site Fluid Motion will have an R25 there.
We were thinking of attending it as we live across the state in FM and we are expecting our R29 before the end of the year. It would give us a chance to hopefully meet some of the Fluid Motion folks.

My question is...we are going to need some items for the tug and are boat shows a good place to get them (ie cheaper) than just regular retail/Amazon etc?

Inflatable PFD's, Eprirb, Binoculars, etc

thx

Boat shows are great places to see the equipment and try it out before purchasing it. I would use the internet to shop price know what you would like to have and purchase. Once you know what you want to purchase look to see if those manufactures are being represented at the show. If so go there and visit the booth. Ask questions to the factory representatives look the product over to see if that is what you want. Once you are committed to the product start shopping again on line and make your purchase. It is rare to get a great deal at a boat show. I have alway gone to a boat show to look at equipment and boats to get ideas of what I like and don't like about products and then go home and make my final decision of what I want to purchase and then find the best deal. Good luck with your R29. Are you taking delivery at Sweet Water Marina? We will be in the area this winter.

Thanks Brian.
Yes we take delivery at Sweetwater marine...as of now it is supposed to be mid/late November...we are nervously excited as you can imagine.

Good luck in advance with the delivery of you new R29. Last month I took delivery of my new R-31 CB from Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem Massachusetts. I ordered the boat with a number of options including the dingy and Weaver quick release davits, salon and outdoor cockpit runners, as well as some dealer installed options such as a Garmin rudder angle indicator and privacy covers with screens for all of the hatches. With regard to your question about going to the boat show, yes, I feel it is always a good idea. At the shows you can find a number of vendors that have all sorts of gizmos and gadgets that you might not see anywhere else. I just attended the Newport RI show. There I was able to buy and order some personalized equipment such as a nice heavy duty welcome mat with my boats name embroidered on it. I also met a vendor that does custom made bed linens, mattress covers, bedspreads, etc. While I could have bought them online, at the show I was able to not only see but feel the materials I wanted for the bed clothes in my master stateroom as well as my quarter berth. The vendors prices were competitive and I have since contracted with him to custom make me these items. I do use Amazon and the internet however for other items. I recently purchased a beautiful burgee from Kathy's Burgees. She does super high quality work and is a pleasure to deal with. She advertises on Tugnuts. I also bought some really great fender covers from Maine Point, an internet vendor. This company has the softest fleece fender covers I have ever felt and they were happy to embroider my tugs name on them which is no easy feat as my boat is lettered in Olde English font.
Finally, I have also purchased items on Amazon such as a nice small hanging garbage pail that I hang on the folding door to my quarter berth as well as some gear ties for my water hose and electrical cables. I hope this helps you somewhat and again, best of luck with your new tug...!

Howdy neighbor! Naples here! We’re expecting delivery or our R27 in January. If you’ve never been to the FLL show, it will blow your mind. Anything made to go on a boat will be on display. We’ll be there as well, shopping for essentials and accessories for our new ride. Maybe we’ll see you at the Ranger dock!
