Hi all.
Wanting help with identifying this ground/bonding wire in my engine compartment. Boat - 2011 Ranger Tug R-27, Yanmar 4BY-180. It is on the port side under the fuel/water separator.
Im thinking it should be attached to the fuel/water separator.
Thanks.

It should be attached to the block.

My guess is that you don't have a Generator, or Heat Pump. This photo is of the water intake for both of those and the Green wire is the Bond wire. I, also have a 2011 RT with Generator and Heat pump.

Upon studying the photo you posted above, it looks like your boat’s throttle cable is routed in a way different than other Yanmar R27s I’ve seen. On others, including mine, the cable is routed down the starboard side of the engine bay and then crosses over the open engine bay to the transmission. A brainless shop helper laid on my throttle cable and crimped it. A new more robust and longer cable was installed to replace the crimped one and was routed farther aft and then across the engine bay over top of the holding tank and then forward to the transmission. It is still exposed, but the open bay crossing is much shorter. I’ll bet sometime in the life of your boat, the shift cable got crimped and the replacement was rerouted as seen in the photo you posted.
