We spent a day with Capt. Mac last Sunday and gathered a lot of good information. During the day Capt. Mac showed us various books and reference material he thought we should have for our cruising enjoyment in the Puget Sound area.
My wife had the duty of making notes and she did a good job. However, I'm now trying to make sense of the notes that are somewhat scribbled as we bounced about some. As with most things details count and for books the ISBN number uniquely identifies them.
If other people who live in the Puget Sound area have suggestions for these books I'd appreciate some feedback with Book titles and their ISBN numbers.
My starting list at this time is
Waggoner Cruising Guide - ISBN 978-0935727-31-9 (The "Bible" for Northwest Cruising)
Chart No. 1 United States of America Nautical Chart Symbol Abbreviations and Terms - ISBN-13: 978-0-939837-56-4 and ISBN-10: 0-939837-56-0

Maptech's Waterproof Chartbooks with Companion CD for Puget Sound (West Marine Part# WPB1520-02)
I would think it useful if a General list of books and reference material for newbies be posted somewhere on this site. Additional books etc could then be posted for various areas at members discretion.
