so its time for some new bottom paint.
my current paint is an ablative. which really isnt that ideal for a cutwater. my understanding is at 20knots it washes off.

looking for recommendations on what people are using.

I would also like to apply a coating to the trim tabs as in the summer I have long weeds trailing offer the tabs which isnt good for performance or the light from my LED's! 😀

again a recommendation would be appreciated.

thanks all

I used Pettit Vivid. It is a hard ablative multi season bottom paint. I applied it last winter used it all season. I gave it a quick wash and looks like it was just painted. I prepped all under water metals with primer and then coated everything with Vivid including trim tabs. Everything looked like it was just painted except for prop wash on the rudder. I used the same paint on my 26' Sea Ray Sundancer and got 4 seasons out of a three coat application. It was used on a trailer also.

BC Ferry Corp are using a product made by ‘Aquagard’ which is getting some very good reviews. Apparently a water based product. I have used their Alumacoat sprays for rudders, props etc with very good results. I will be trying their bottom coat paints next time. FWIW.

Be sure to check from compatibility if you switch from your current bottom paint. If the new paint isn’t compatible you will need to remove all the old bottom paint - a messy and potentially environmentally hazardous job.

Another vote for Petit Vivid. It lasts and it works well. Easy to apply.

super feedback everyone!

Any ideas how to check what I have? it was painted by the previous owner.
