Bottom Paint Touch-Up

I have black bottom paint on my R-21 and it his several chips near the bow. I was going to hand sand and then touch up with a sponge brush. Is this the right way to go about this. Also, I am worried that the color will really stick out that I touched up the hull.

Has anyone had any experience with this?
