Bow/Stern Thruster Remote

I've recently purchased a 2011 R27.
It does not have a remote control for the Sidepower thrusters.
Does the Sidepower system have the ability to connect to a remote control as a standard feature or would I need to install the appropriate interface to have one?

Hello,

It should have the remote feature but need to first access and locate. The box should be below the thruster control sticks. Removing the controls and or shifter to gain access will help with this. The box is a small black box with a small antenna on the box itself. You can order the remote from us at parts@rangertugs.com, I would make sure that you locate the box first. Hope this helps.

I was able to get to the underside of the thruster controller.
Should the box you mentioned be hard wired to the joystick controller?
What I see is the bottom of the controller with (4) electrical connectors; (2) multi wire connectors (Bow and Stern) and (2) single wire connectors that are unused.

I would send you a picture but I am not sure how to do that here.

Hey Paul,

The box is not necessarily hard wired but dies have wires coming from/going to the box. I have attached a link to the box for visual reference, https://side-power.com/produkt/31184/re ... -thruster/

Also with that same link there is a tab labeled "Files", under that you will be able to download the manual which will help with wiring diagrams, re-pairing the remote etc. Hope this helps!!
