bow thruster remote control

Due to life changes (wont be living on tug anymore) and need for easy trailering I went from R27 back to a R21 EC
One thing my 27 had was the remote control for the thrusters. Can I get that for the 21? Would I need more than just the remote hand held unit?

Greg, someone like Andrew Custis from the factory will have the answer for you. But is the thruster unit that you have on your 21EC the same make and model as on your R27? The remotes were back-ordered when we took delivery on our R27 last May. We got ours about a month later, and I was able to add it following Kenny Marr's instructions. Very do-able. So if the wired control you have on your 21EC matches the one on your R27, my experience would say it would be something you can add.

I installed the remote on our 21 (a 2008) with no problems. Goes under the dash/helm counter. Works great and surprises onlookers if it's run while you're on the dock! Great for docking single handed...
