I would like to replace the vinyl applique on the glass in the porthole in the head on my 2008 R25. This vinyl gives the glass its obscuring effect. I have found that after cleaning the existing one is starting to come off. Is it possible to identify what this product is and where to get a replacement. Alternately have others found similar products for this purpose.

Thanks

I am pretty sure you can get that at a craft store or maybe even Home Depot. I purchased a liquid etching paint to obscure the glass. It does not actually etch the glass and can be scraped off with a razor blade. I purchased it at a Michael's Craft store.

Thanks for the good suggestion

We purchased several small, round magnifying mirrors that come with 3 suction cups on the back at Dollar Tree. They are almost exactly the same size as the port holes and we can cover each of the port holes as needed.

Original solution!

There is a 3M product called Frosted Crystal and Dusted Crystal. One is darker than the other I cannot remember which is which.
A sign maker should be able to sell you a small amount or even cut the disc for you.

You apply by wetting the inside glass with a solution of water and 2% dish washing solution. Put in a spray bottle wet the glass remove the Frosted Crystal from the liner spray the adhesive side with the water solution and apply the disc to the inside. Spray the surface of the frosted crystal and squeegee the air bubbles and excess water from the surface. Let dry for a day and clean.

Looks like a sand blasted finish.

I'm going to see if I can find this product , thanks for the tip!
Best regards from Eastern Canada to Australia
