It appears that a date and place have been decided for a Ranger Tug Rendezvous in September. The place will be the Bremerton City Marina. The dates will be Friday September 11th through Sunday September 13th. Solitude will be arriving on the 7th and spend the week there.
All those that are interested, please respond. It may seem that September is a long way off but lets face it, it is only seven months away!
I will contact the City Marina for details as well as John Livingston and Jeff Mesmer at Ranger tugs. Bruce of Moondance has spoken with the local West Marine manager who is willing to participate.
Bremerton City Marina is accessible not only by boat but also very easily by car. They also feature the Hampton Inn and Suites right there at the marina for those that prefer to sleep on dry land. They offer shore side facilities consisting of restrooms with showers.
Solitude will spend from the 7th through the 13th in Bremerton and then start north to the San Juans. First stop will be Poulsbo. Second stop, well that will be up to the weather and how we feel the next day. We will cruise north for the next ten days pulling out somewhere around Oak Harbour or LaConnor. Anyone with a recommendation as to where I can leave my truck and trailer for three weeks along with a marina with a travel lift would be greatly appreciated. We plan to launch at Port Orchard and then drive the truck and trailer north and leave it. This gives us time to go north without having to worry about getting all the way back to Port Orchard to pull Solitude out. Anyone interested in traveling north with us, we would love to have your company. We have no fixed agenda nor itinerary. The weather will dictate our course. The goal is to get to Friday Harbour and possibly beyond.
Thanks
David and Maureen
