We had our boat hauled recently and were able to walk around it for the first time since purchasing it in May. The yard manager pointed out a bulge in the hull roughly 6-8 inches long. There is no break in the fiberglass. It appears to have been there since it went though the production line. My question is: Is this a common occurrence and is it something to be concerned with? The boat is still under warranty until May.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

Thanks

We have a 2018 RT 31CB. It has the same bulge in the hull and is intentionally designed that way. We had the same concern and checked with the factory.

Enjoy without worry.

Thanks for your reply. We will be sure to pass along what Cutwater and Fluid Motion says.

It's great to hear that your 2018 RT 31CB has a purposeful design in the hull! It's always reassuring to confirm with the factory for peace of mind.Free Fire name

As we all know, it is easy to utilize social media to gain information about a boat issue and sometimes it can become a place to vent when frustration takes hold when a solution is not immediate. This board is a gift to new and used boat owners and it is comforting to have the wealth of experience and knowledge at hand. As a "nervous". new boat owner, I thank you.

Our boat was recently serviced by Pocket Yachts in Maryland to address warranty issues and inspect the hull bulge. They determined the bulge was caused by a support piece which had slipped during construction and placed pressure on the hull. It was easily accessed and corrected in their shop. The hull is already responding to the lack of pressure. Thank you Tony, of Pocket Yachts Service, for addressing this issue and explaining what had occurred. It is comforting to know we have your support, despite being so far from your facility.
