C26 Air Conditioning

What make/model air conditioning have Cutwaters had installed? We sailed our C26 in the Pacific Northwest, but now are in Florida and would like to add A/C. Thanks!

Hello Bob,

We installed a Dometic Vector Turbo Compact 16,000 BTU unit on this model when we were building it. They are self contained and not too bad to install. The ducting is what gets interested to try and run but a good marine air shop should be able to design and figure something out for your intended use.

Thanks for the reply. Our C26 came with a heater.
When the Dometic was installed on C26s, was it in addition to or in lieu of the heater? I am wondering if the heater should (could) be pulled and replaced. Space is a premium on the boat.
Some sailboat friends have mentioned Mermaid Air Conditioning. (They have similar space and power constraints). Are you, or others familiar? Any thoughts?
