Fuel gauge suddenly reads blank (actual readout: FUEL TANK, ... % O).
Tank is in fact ~50% full. Blank is directly on the Yanmar gauge itself, so I infer it's not a NMEA loose connection to Garmin.
Before I replace it: why are marine fuel gauges so imprecise? Any automobile accurately reports continuous fuel level, with nicely dampened gauge readable irrespective of potholes/hills/acceleration, to fairly precise indications. C26 Yanmar reads pseudo-continuous levels imprecisely: level changes in 4-8% increments, level reads 100% in motion, level at immediate rest can be 10% off level reported after extended rest. Is there a more reliable fuel sender/gauge?
