Is there any structural significance to the smooth circles on the otherwise anti-skid swim grid?
i.e. any consequences to mounting a rail other than upon the circles?

Hi Diatom,

Those features are there to provide a smooth sealing surface for the rail stanchion bases. The "consequence" you may encounter for mounting any railing in any other location is that there are wooden blocks sealed into the platform at the stanchion mounting points to provide a solid core to facilitate the mounting hardware (screws and such). Depending on where else you may want to add any additional railing, you would not have a solid core available in that location. Hope this helps a bit.

Cheers,

Ralf

Thanks Ralf - "just in time", was going to start punching holes on the weekend. Time for a rethink.
