I own a 2014 C28 and I've had a wiper motor failure. I have purchased new a new motor but am nervous about accessing the wiring. Anybody with experience here? Do I remove the center 'console' above the center isle? Any other suggestions would be welcome as well.

Hello Jon,

You would need to remove the wiper arm from the motor first, there is an allen head bolt on one and a push snap on the other. Once off you would need to remove the nut that is at the base of the wiper motor shaft on the outside. Once inside there is a screw holding the body to the wood panel, remove that then the motor can come out. Hope this helps and feel free to email me direct.

Thanks,
Kevin Lamont

Kevin,
I appreciate your input on removing the wiper motor from the windshield. However, my main question was with regard to 'access to the wiring'. You can see that the wiring from the motor goes directly into the headliner and my concern is how to access that wiring. How does the headliner come down or is there a way to avoid that? Does the current wiring splice occur at the overhead center consul? My new motors come with roughly an 18 " pigtail and I assume that is the same as with the originals. I'm just trying to figure out the best approach to rewiring - where is the best place to cut/splice and how do I get to that point without damaging anything?

Thanks,
Jon Rider
