Hydraulic assist strut to open engine bay hatch fails to open more than half way. Think hydraulic fluid may be low. Does anyone know where the reservoir is located? It supplies the engine hatch assist strut and the trim stabilizers. Suppose to be in aft compartment accessible through hatch below beach seat. Need to check and service reservoir.
Thank you,
George

The trim tab pump also actuates the hatch door. Check the level there. Starboard aft corner. Access under aft cockpit seat.

Double check that the trim tabs are fully retracted before opening the hatch. The reservoir doesn't hold enough fluid to fully deploy the tabs and lift the hatch more than a part of the way. If your tabs are deployed and you top off the reservoir to open the engine hatch, when you retract everything it will overflow into the bilge (not a fun mess to deal with).

Highly recommend the LED position indicator system for the tabs along with the auto retract at ignition key off.

Thank you guys,
Tabs are fully retracted when eng. hatch is opening, only get 45 degrees open. Accessed compartment under aft bench seat
See a raw water wash down pump and I have a pump for bait tank. What does the reservoir look like, can’t seem to locate it.
Difficult access. Any pics?
Thank you,
G

I'm not able to post pictures on here, but the pump should be mounted to the vertical section transom. On my C30 it is mounted to the port side of the rudder stock above the stern thruster motor. A Google search for "Bennett HPU" should give you a good visual of what you are looking for, eg. a rectangular box with an opaque white/tan bottom half and a smoked lexan top half cover.

Thank you for the info. Will be on board Thursday to find that sucker.
