Has anyone added an anchor washdown to a C-30? Curious about the level of effort involved in such a project. Separate pump from the cockpit raw water washdown? T off the existing one? where to run the line and add the hose fitting?

Well, we run an expanding garden hose up from the cockpit washdown outlet. OTOH we mostly use buoys instead of anchoring so it's not an everyday or even every week need. Would be interested to know about a fixed solution.

I did a bit of digging around this forum and others have done it on various models of RT. Seems like a T off the cockpit raw water line with PEX tubing up to the anchor locker, followed by another through hull hose fitting is the most common approach. Trying to run a pex tube from the near furthest aft point of the boat to the near most forward point intimidates me, to say the least. the rest of it seems fairly easy. I've seen that people use the bilge weeps, but most pex tubing won't fit in there without a real struggle, and then I wonder what happens when you actually need that weep for whatever...

I tee’d off the cockpit wash down on our R27. Not a difficult project and one of my favorite features. Don’t know if it would be more difficult on the C30.

How did you run the line up?

This was the install in my C26. It was tight to run but doable. The C30 should be easier. There should be more room to run the water line.

Thanks Brian, very helpful images. I will investigate this. I have some ideas on the passthrough.

Not sure how well this applies to the C30 but here goes. I added the tee in the washdown line just past the pump and ran a continuous line up to the bow on the wall of the engine compartment, under the cabin step into the cave (quarterberth), behind the mouse fur covered baseboard in the cave, under the navigators seat and feet, under the the v-berth liner, and through the forward V-berth compartment under the floor panel where the bow thruster is. Removing the port bulkhead panel in the aft of the V-berth gave access to the space under the V-berth liner. Most difficult part was mounting a hose bib connection in the anchor locker and making the connection to line coming from the stern. I ended up using a short line pre-connected to the hose bib and then using a coupler hidden behind the foremost panel in the V-berth. I keep a coil hose attached with nozzle in the anchor locker itself. Just have to remember to turn on the wash down before going forward and pull out the coil hose before dropping or retrieving the anchor so it does not get tangled with the rode. We anchored over 40 times on our trip to Alaska many time with a very early daybreak start. The anchor locker washdown made cleaning up the muddy anchor, chain and foredeck a breeze. I can’t imagine going without it!
