C30 Water Heater Replacement

The webasto/isotemp water heater in my 2016 C30 has a leak. Specifically, the fitting where the engine coolant enters the heat exchanger is leaking water, not coolant. I've been told it's basically non repairable. I ordered a new Torrid water heater (made locally on Bainbridge of higher quality components), but wondering if anyone else has replaced a water heater on their C30 and has any tips/tricks? I know the fridge (and fridge door) have to come out for access, but any other guidance would be appreciated.

No particular "guidance" here... but my R31-CB Webasto/Isotemp water heater tank is also leaking... pinhole at a welded seam... mine is a 2018... Started leaking last year..4-5 year working life ?? El Stinko!!! Seriously question the quality of the brand !! I have to remove my stove/oven.. and become a "miniature rubber human" to get to it all !! Pete

Do you have the part # for the Torrid heater? And have you completed the work and happy with it? I am replacing mine on a 2018 C30 soon, and any advice would be appreciated thanks.

Hi there, sorry for the really delayed response here - I haven't been on here as much lately. I ended up having to return the Torrid and I actually went with a one size smaller 8-gallon Webasto tank. The 10g Torrid was way too big for the under-fridge space, and my mechanic nearly killed me after he tried to install it. Given my upgrade to lithium, I now can invert to heat water when I need to, so the smaller tank heats faster and I can do it more frequently as needed.

Did you go with the 8 gallon for particular reason? I would like to go back in with the 11 gallon OEM size?
