I have a R25 and am installing a waste tank monitor and a battery monitor. I would like to run the sensor cables forward. What would be the best way to run these cables forward to the meters mounted forward.

We have an R27 but I would think the runs would be similar. If you're mounting on the starboard side run from the starboard cockpit locker underneath the head outside wall (accessed thru the sink cabinet floor), then behind the stove bottom cabinet, sink cabinet, pull the refrig out to be able to run to the electric panel...pice of cake! On the port side it would be a little easier. From the port cockpit locker into the cave/cockpit bulkhead, up thru the cave and up into the glove box area. We ran a tv cable from the tv to the cockpit for a coaxial connect this way.

Good luck,

Jim

I installed a waste tank monitor on my 25SC. I made a wood bracket for the monitor display and mounted it on the bulkhead shelf in the cave. It's not something you need to monitor closely and no need to cut a hole in the forward teak and very short wire runs.

I'm with Brian B. No reason to put these monitors near the helm. You don't care about them when under way. We put our battery monitor in a teak bracket under the bulkhead shelf in the cave and the black water monitor in the head near the flush button. I sealed the black water monitor with sealant so it would not be affected by shower water.
