Can a Garmin (5215) be updated with Previous Versions

I'm having an issue with my Radar (HD18). I got the message Radar Services Lost. I've tried everything I can think of to get it back up (un plunging all cables, reconnecting, powering down, disconnect negotiate battery terminal) and nothing. We were off the boat for two weeks, when we got there, I powered up the 5215 and I heard the radar spin up, but when I hit the Transmit Radar button, I got the Radar Services Lost message and it was off the network.

So I thought I'd try to do a software update. I've got the latest versions on there. So I tried to load a previous version and see what happens, then reinstall the latest again. Every time I try to load a previous version, it doesn't seem to update. The 5215 stays at version 7.8.

Is there a way to load previous versions?

Did you check the cable inside the unit that goes between the outside connection and the interior of the unit. It is a short length. This has been an issue at times. Corrosion can form at the connectors and you will have an issue with radar transmission.
