I have two private messages that have been in my “outbox” folder more than a day. They won’t send. If sent, they should appear in “sent” folder. Need advice. I don’t know how to contact the admin of this site. Two fellow tugnuts may think I am rude because I did not respond to them.

Private messages stay in your “Outbox” until the recipient views it.

Thanks - that answers the problem. That’s a weird way for it to work. So what’s the best way to get a tugnut to look at private message? I bet you in this case, the tugnut doesn’t realize he has a private message. This tugnut is a big poster.

Most of the time, a copy of the private message is also sent to the person's email. It'll show up in Tugnuts as in the "outbox", but the person has most likely already read the message in their email.

The person to whom the message is written may get an email notification that a private message has been received to their Tugnuts account. The ongoing work to the Tugnuts forum may impact whether those notifications are sent. Otherwise, you’ll just have to wait until the recipient logs in to Tugnuts and then they’ll have to notice the new message.

Private messages are functioning as they always have been. Recipients have to open a message in their inbox for it to be delivered. A new messages count is displayed in the blue menu box in the upper right hand corner of the home page, and in the light blue sub menu on every other page (upper left corner).

Receiving an email notification of new PMs is a preference which can be set in your User Control Panel > Board Prefences tab > Edit global preferences (left hand menu) > select Notify...

If your PM refers to a thread in which you and the intended recipient are participating, it may help to post a reply to the thread letting them know a PM has been sent.

Cheers,

Bruce
