Canvas side window cover

Got my R23 two days ago.

My wife and I started "unpacking" "Sarah D" and both of us found it impossible to latch the upper two canvas snap buttons into the large black "female" snap receivers on the window. They are well under the lip of the roof structure at the starboard, rear window. Impossible to see to align both snap parts to lock them. Since there is no side deck worth mentioning, you hang on to the roof rail and try to align and snap the canvas buttons, one handed, without being able to see it. We gave up after sore fingers.

Poor design. Could have moved the buttons down to where they are visible and shorten the canvas to the edge of the roof lip.

Any better ideas or solutions?

You can purchase the stick on snaps and perhaps place them lower?? You can google search for them. I saw some on iboats.com
I am not familar with the "sticking" power of them.

Marine stores sell a gadget that slips over those buttons and with the attached handle make it easier to mate those connections without getting your hands hurt

We had a lot of trouble with the snaps on the canvas cover of our last boat. We bought one of these tools, and it makes the job WAY easier. Worth its weight in gold!

Assume you are talking windshield cover? Make sure the cover is under the wipers. Won't snap on top of them. Do one side, then the other (vs both tops then bottoms). Works fine for us

Get the snap tool it is great. I snap the water side top first, then bottom, then put cover under both port and Star wipers, Then get on the dock. snap top first and bottom last. once it stretch's out a little it becomes easier. Always tougher first time each spring.

If it is the port window cover I start on the forward top then forward bottom then aft top, then aft bottom. If I am lucky enough to have a port tie I do it from the dock. I can reach aft snaps form the cockpit.
