Canvass cleaning refreshing

Anybody have a good way to remove mold and mildew from under cockpit canvass. Tried soap and water brushing doesn’t do much.

Tried oxyclean no help will try star brite mold cleaner.

I remove the canvas, lay it out and pressure wash it - which removes the grime etc. Then I fresh coat it with water proofing spray. Does a good job of removing the mold and mildew.

Power spraying was going to be last resort.. I used Starbrite mildew stain remover scrubbed it with a brush. Let it sit for 20minutes rinsed it off and it worked great. After it dries, I’ll spray it with 303 aerospace protection.

Sounds a lot faster than pressure washing - might try that this coming Spring. Thanks for the heads up.

I just cleaned my cockpit canvas (Sunbrella). Parts of it had black mold, other parts where rain water stood for a while had green moss and still other parts were just dirty. I took it up to the laundromat and washed it with 2 cups Arm & Hammer Detergent and 2 cups Clorox bleach. 95% of stains came out with nearly a fully recovered fresh appearance. The canvas fully dried back on the cockpit frame. Did not put in a dryer.

scrub
machine washing machine if it will fit
starbrite products including mold remover.
rewaterproof spray
