What is the max recommend wheight that someone can be to sit on the captain's seat with out damaging the counter ?

I am willing to bet that this question has Andrew and John looking blank
I strongly suspect that it has neither been calculated by the architect nor tested by the factory
Let me ask a counter question - what is the weight of the person in question?
And I would be more concerned about the floor of the foot well and/or the footrest, failing

My guess is that for a person who's weight were to compromise the counter top could not even find enough room to sit on the helm seat in the first place. The Refrigerator is below the counter top at this point and provides additional stiffening.

Curious to know why you're asking ?

I would like to replace the seat with a bigger more comfortable seat. As I am about 260 and the seat is about 50 to 60 lbs. I find when you are at the helm for hours, I feel a better seat would make it so much nicer

If you already have been using it without an issue I don't think changing the seat to one you find more comfortable will make a significant difference.

The factory does respond to feedback. Yes my seat and the cabinetry do clash but I have a early R21EC and the radio was mounted on a bulkhead behind the seat and looked to be attached with bondo and fell off when the boat was still new. You will not find this radio mount on boats made after the problem was found. Newer boats have the fuel sloshing problems also fixed.

Well I made a excellent dicision and changed my pilots set. Put in a high back seat with head rest lumbar support, adjustable arm rest and reclinable. So much more comfortable it would of been nice if it was an option that came with the tug. For $500 it is one of the best up grades I have done. No more sore back or hips. Ps made foot rest so I can keep my feet up. Used the handles going to the V birth. Ran a strap through with a pad. Makes it all so nice can go for hours. The hard part is not falling to sleep lol.

Does you new seat fold up so that the counter underneath can be used - much in the manner of the stock seat?

The new seat I have uses all the same hardware as the old one and works the same way. We can still lift it up to use more of the counter if need.
