Our promariner 2500qs has decided it no longer wants to charge. The generator puts out 125 volts on it's dedicated circuit and should power up the house battery circuit when in charge or inverter mode. Power to the charger seems to get lost between the generator and the charger as it only reads 25 volts on the input side of the charger. What could have happened? The inverter works fine. No faults recorded. Ideas? Currently in Canada waiting for weather to improve so we can return to Michigan.

I decided to crank the motor and parallel the batteries to charge them. Then decided after seeing the alternator was doing its job and charging the batteries I thought let's turn on the genie and try the inverter charger again. And it now decided to work. Next I turned off the motor. Charger inverter stayed in charge mode and was still powering the house bank. Any thoughts on why it now chose to work?

What were your battery voltages? I believe that the charger goes back through the relays. If so, if the battery bank was too low the relays will not close to allow a charge. Perhaps when you went into parallel and started charging from the engine the batteries got a high enough voltage charge to allow the relay to close and allow the charge from the promariner.

Not sure if this is related, but I found that in order to get the generator to start charging the batteries I had to put a load on it, such as starting the air conditioner. One person suggested my batteries (which are over eight years old) need to be replaced, and that might solve the problem.

For now, I start the generator, start the air conditioning, then the battery charging starts and I can turn off the air conditioning.
