We have had a solid week of rain and zero sunshine in north Florida. Finally yesterday, some sun, so I went to the boat. The Garmin chart plotter will not stay on, the bow and stern thrusters will not power up at any station and the auto pilot(Garmin) gives a message of "ECU low voltage. Also had a low siren and beeping, which cleared up when I turned off the battery switches and then reset to on. Does this have to do with lack of sun and the solar panel? The batteries are not quite two years old. The engine started normally and the engine gauges were all in the normal range. When I last used the boat, everything was perfect. Any help would be appreciated.

I wonder if a boat hit by lightning would do that?

Start from the beginning. Your symptom is low voltage. The general question is why? Did you have anything powered up while away? Were you on shore power? If you were on shore power, did the power go out?

If overcast and both fridges are running and no shore power you may have just ran low on juice.. Hopefully after a good run things are back to normal.. If you do not have shore power think about leaving fridges off of possible.. Or at least make sure they are not turned really cold..
Good luck
