A few days ago I was unscrewing the filter on the generator sea strainer. As I started to unscrew it my knuckle came in contact with the end of a hose clamp and it sliced my knuckle like a razor blade. I'll leave out the bloody details.
I had seen this product before and found them on Ebay, cheap enough and will prevent future injuries. They are available in different colors.

Looks like a great idea. I've also had a few sliced fingers from hose clamps and have ordered a set.

I have had the same problem with these clamps and have the scars to prove it. Also there is a separate issue with these small see-thru strainers. They do not hold up to overtightening. With the hard to get to locations for the Genset & AC cooling straines on my boat I have had to replaced cracked plastic covers. The ones on my boat are cheap and made by Seadog. Good news is the entire strainer is less than $10. I actually located the replacement strainers including screens (Fishers Supply I think) for less than the see-thru covers from from WM. I carry a couple of extra covers and swap the strainers when cleaning.
