Clean Fuel Tank onR25?

We cleaned the fuel tank on our 2008 R-25. We were on a trip on the Pamploco Sound in North Carolina when we lost power. We had to get towed and found that the fuel line was clogged. When the boat was built, the strainer was not removed from the end of the fuel pick up. We had to cut the fiberglass deck near the step to access the fuel tank. There was no way to access the fittings. When we took the strainer off of the fuel line, we pumped all of the fuel out and flushed the tank. There was very little crud in the tank and the filters were not dirty. We now have a deck plate and good access to all the fuel tank fittings.
 
I take it the strainer was plugged? Any photos and measurements for how/where you installed the access hatch? I know the general area fwd of the engine/step. But it would be nice not having to figure it all out when others have done it before 🙂
