Cleaning the Mouse Fur

We have had water staining on the mouse fur on the aft bulkhead in the cave. We removed the fur covered deck trim and it was wet and mildewed. TileEx and a scrubbing cleaned that up ok but there are orange stains elsewhere that the TileEx doesn't seem to clean. Any suggestions?

We use FOLEX, found at HomeDepot. Its in a spray bottle and it removes any and all stains we have had on the dreaded mouse fur, including a large red wine stain in the forward berth area. It has proven safe on every surface we have used it thus far.

Folex is amazing. Long story short... we were painting our bedroom with a forest green paint. We have white carpet. One of our cats jumped onto a table with a paint tray full of the paint. He freaked, jumped, and scrambled all over our condo. Hundreds of green paw prints.

Folex, and elbow grease, removed them all. And coffee, and red wine, and other assorted blotches.

We starting seeing brown stains on the mouse fur in the area above the vberth and I tried Oxyclean based on another thread. It really didn't do the trick and makes an odd odor so I thought I'd try hydrogen peroxide on a whim and it worked great! I put it in a small squirt bottle and applied to the offending areas while holding a rag underneath to catch any drips. The ugly brown stains disappeared, there was no odor and it's cheap as can be!

Excellent suggestion to add to our list of treatments.
The factory suggests bleach water for cleaning the mouse fur.
I have found Formula 409 to be helpful and then used the bleach on a couple of more resistant stains (Oak leaf tea that seeped around the hand rail bolts)
Might I also mention: Do not mix these various concoctions together in a container due to the formation of noxious gases, such as Mustard Gas.

I second the endorsement of Folex. Works great on monkey fur in the cave.

Folex. Good stuff. Another thing that helps is to spray it on, let soak, and vacuum off (shopvac) rather than rubbing it.

We just got a Ranger 25 this past fall and only got to do a 7-day cruise to learn about it before winter. We took to calling the space for the under-dinette berth The Cave. How interesting to see that others do, too. It's such a great storage spot! I only with that we could access more of it with a door under the aft dinette seat.

I tried Folex today for the first time. It effortlessly removed staining and dirt on the areas that I tried where other cleaners failed. I will eventually do all the monkey fur in the boat, too cold now to continue the job. I'll take a couple of bottles to FL in January. Thanks to all who recommended this product, I purchased it at Lowe's.
