We came back to the boat to find the AC system had shut down. Cleaned the filter and pulled a bunch of jelly fish out (in Cape May) System ran for 4 hours then stopped again. This time there was a little bit of jelly fish, but no water coming through the supply side from the through hull. We pulled the hose off the water filter bracket and first blew air, then water, back through the through hull. We could hear it escaping. We would then get a little flow, but it would then go back to a trickle.

Any ideas? I’m guessing a piece of plastic or a rag is somehow over the intake, but I’m stumped. Hoping when we get moving tomorrow whatever it is will get pulled away.

Thanks!

Hi Kevin,
My wife and I had a very similar event happen last week in Yorktown, VA. We had jellyfish intrude twice, the latter event limiting the water flow to a trickle. I removed the hose at the through hull and used a plastic snake (hair remover) first, then blew water back through it. I used high pressure fresh water from the power pedestal and haven’t had any issues since then.

I hope you get the AC back in commission soon!
Rob

Hi Rob,

Thanks - Happy to report that midway back up Delaware Bay to C&D canal we got the flow back. Guessing whatever was left got sucked back out. Definitely will make for a better night given the heat out there this week!

Thanks,

Kevin
