This is a warning notice to all. I hang some of my fenders (bumpers) off the cabin top hand rails. Last weekend one of my fenders covered my Wallas stove exhaust. It got cold around 3 AM so I turned the stove on. Eventually the exhaust started burning the fender; some of the smoke came in through an open window and it measured 55 PPM on my CO2 alarm before I figured out what the heck was happening. I have now marked the handrail with tape to remind me to keep the fenders away from over the exhaust. Could have been a really stupid way to screw up an otherwise good weekend.

The weekend was good. I met up with Blue Bayou in Friday Harbor, WA at the C-Dory rendezvous. We did a circumnavigation of Shaw Island on Blue Bayou; motored together to Sidney BC; and Charles rode with me from Sidney to Victoria. There will probably be photos of the two of us tied together in Friday Harbor or Roche Harbor on Blue Bayou's website soon.

Hi Dave, I think you mean CO for Carbon Monoxide. CO2 is Carbon Dioxide. The difference is that CO stays in the bloodstream and has a cumulative health affect. Good stuff about covering the vents.
