Hi... We have a C28 and currently the only covering we have for the cockpit is the sun shade. The wife is wanting to add a full enclosure but I really hate that I'll lose the use of my down riggers as part of the deal. Just wondering if anyone knows of a full enclosure solution that can be easily removed with say 30 min work? Maybe quick release pins on the bars or something...

Also, we're moving our boat to Anacortes (cap sante) from Bremerton in a few weeks so if anyone knows of a good person to contact to build said enclosure I'd appreciate it.

Is your wife looking for shade or keeping out the weather or both

I have a hardtop over my cockpit (attached directly to a bimini frame) and I really like it. It is made of poly-carbonate and anodized aluminum it is stationary and the side curtains just zip off, they are attached with keder rail. What type of down riggers do yo have and where are they located?

Tugtime 51,
could you post a picture or two. I have R29 with a full canvas enclosure and have been considering a hard top. I've seen the website but there aren't any pictures of tugs or Cutwaters. Mind sharing the price?
thanks,
Marc

We'd like the extra room benefit of a full enclosure. We have the sun shade currently which helps with staying out of the sun but it would be nice to have essentially an extra 80 sqft of space for someone to sleep in the cockpit for instance.

Hi Steven,
I had an enclosure made to fold forward allowing use of the downriggers. Check out my album.
The enclosure was made by King Marine Canvas in Seattle for the R21EC.
Best, Bob

We had custom enclosure made for our 26 Cutwater two panels starboard and port sides and three panels across the back.I added extra living space when weather is bad or seas are rough . Center aft curtain removes so we can use the aft seat. 15 minutes to have it completely taken down . Bimini roles up and install a boot on it for trailering or just to have the cockpit open. I have pictures of it in my album.

Steve- We have a 2016 R31CB. we had king canvas so a full enclosure for us. send me an email ( jeffreyc@rfpco.com)
and I will send you a pic.
We can (with two of us) remove the enclosure in 8-10 minutes without hurrying. It is easy. About 12 minutes to put it back on. No worries.
