Hi all. Anyone added a hot/cold cockpit shower to their Ranger Tug 23? Any ideas on best product for this? Thanks!

I put a 13 ft hose on my galley sink, reaches to the swim step. Cheaper than a full blown install in the cockpit.

Makes a lot of sense!

Has anyone re-plumbed the raw water washdown to the freshwater tank instead of raw water? Seems like this should be doable? Jim

That’s what I would like to do!

This is certainly doable, and I considered it, until I thought about the amount of water a washdown takes. With only 22 gallons of fresh water on board, I would only do it if I were at a marina - and even then, it's just as easy to just use the tap on the marina's slip.

But it would actually be quite easy by putting a tee on the cold water inlet to the water heater and running a new line to the washdown line in the center lazarette. If you tee into the existing washdown line, rather than cutting and re-routing, you could install check valves on the new fresh water line, as well as one between the tee in the washdown line and the raw-water intake, and be able to use either raw or fresh water. If I were to consider this option, I would always keep my seacock closed, unless planning on using the raw water for a washdown. Note that I flush my head with fresh water only, so the only thing that seacock serves is the raw water washdown.

that might be my spring project. I think if your careful about usage it would be good to just rinse off on the swim platform rather than pull out the shower or even a bucket of water over the head 😀
