Control of the Auxiliary 9.9 Motor

We are still researching features. In regards to the 9.9hp option, are all the controls for the 9.9hp motor done from the helm? Understanding that engine on/off must be from the helm, but can you do steering from the motor itself while in the back of the boat?

We have the factory installed Yamaha 9.9 on our 2018 R23. It came with a Panther T5 electro steer set-up which steers with a handheld remote. So you can walk all around the boat to steer with the small steering fob.

To be honest, it's a little tricky to steer precisely, especially in current, waves and lots of boats trolling around you if you're a fisherman. I'm used to connecting a tie-rod to the main and steering with the steering wheel. You still have to control the speed with the throttle on the tiller. There are no controls for the 9.9hp Yamaha at the helm.

As of now, we offer the Panther System on the R23 and the tie bar system for the R27 in terms of steering solutions for the kickers.
