Has anyone found a suitable cover for the Volvo Penta second station EVC display panel? I have one in the cockpit steering station and water gets under the lens. This is a new replacement unit. The first one leaked and finally crapped out. Right now I'm using cling wrap and a rubber band. I don't think VP made one for it.

Mine has failed similarly, and I have just removed it for now, until I can replace it. (I actually tried to take it apart to dry out, which did not work so well.) When I do replace it, my plan is to raise the display about 1/4 in with either a large rubber washer or rubber feet. My wife will then make a sunbrella cover, which is secured by a shock cord drawstring that fits in the new gap under the display. It is not just water, but sunlight damaging it over time.

This shows the cover for the throttle control. Display will be similar, but display has to be raised to provide purchase for shock cord to hold in place.

I have a sunbrella cover that covers the entire station. works well. (sorry no photo)

I tried to fix the first one also. The glass cover had popped up and I tried gluing it down but the glue smeared under the glass. It wasn't pretty but it was functional....for awhile. I just recently took up canvas sewing myself and was thinking of making a cover for the panel but didn't think about covering the entire station, DUH. Now I have a new sewing project. YIPPEE!! I really enjoy using the industrial sewing machine I bought. I've made covers for almost everything else. I'd cover the dog if he would hold still!

CutwaterGG did you use snaps to secure it?

BTW- I found a replacement display panel for $289.00 at Great Lakes Skipper online. The same panel is $200 more from a Volvo Penta dealer. The only caveat is that it is not warrantied by Volvo Penta since Great Lakes Skipper is not a certified VP dealer. They get their stock from other stores going out of business. I'm gambling that this one will last if I keep it covered.

there are three button snaps that hold the cover in place on the cutwater. (same button snaps as used to hold on the window covers)

Not a great photo but you can see the cover in this photo

I'll try and take a more detailed photo this week and post.

Very Nice,
Thanks

also call the factory -I smashed my outside display in a storm and the factory was the best price by miles

TA DAAA! Got it done

I recently had an overall cover made. Looks like the one in the ta da picture, only dark blue. Contact King Marine canvass. They did a great job changing all the covers on my C30 cb. 206-3839346 or 206-271-2294 Bob Gold
