We crossed the border from BC today into WA. We are NEXUS and use the CBP Roam app on an iPhone.
The app didn’t work. It had been updated within the past month but would not open. I had to delete the installed app and reinstall Version 2.44.0. And then reenter all the information about the boat and each of us. Reinstalling the app apparently deletes all prior info.
The new version of CBP Roam worked fine. Just took up 10 minutes of time as we ran in circles in 1 ft of chop off the north entrance to Prevost Harbor on Stuart Island.
My recommendation is to try opening your CBP app before leaving the dock to ensure it is working for you.
None of the direct 800/866 CBP phone numbers I had in my file worked either. Apparently the CBP Roam app is it unless you physically report to a US Customs dock.

We had the same experience with CBP Roam when we returned last week, except we had flat water. Also had to delete the app, download the app and enter all the data again. I’d recommend everyone delete and reload before you go knowing that we both experienced the same thing.
