Last year when we left for Desolation Sound we had a copy of the Cruising Atlas for Northwest Waters Spiral-bound by Evergreen Pacific Publishing. It was real handy in that it was approx 12"H X 18"W. and was basically a book of charts. We did not use these for navigation per se but could lay the book on the table and see where we might want to explore the next day(s). We also used a marker pen to trace our trip for later, or to show someone our trip. However, this Atlas basically only goes to the north end of Vancouver Island. Our plans next year are for Rivers Inlet and Bella Bella during the salmon runs in early July and August. I am not able to find a booklet like this and wonder if anyone can point me in the right direction?

On second thought I should explain that Rivers Inlet and Bella Bella are on the B.C. coast. Rivers Inlet lies just north of Cape Caution and Bella Bella is north of that about 50 miles?

Check out Marine Atlas, Volumes 1 & 2. Volume 1 covers from Olympia to Malcolm Island. Vol. 2 covers from Port Hardy to Skagway. They are also spiral bound and can be laid flat on a table. They were invaluable when I accompanied my stepson on a boat from Ketchikan to Port Orchard last February. Lots of detail regarding channels and anchorages. They are not a substitute for charts, but well worth the money for planning purposes.

Thanks for the info. That is exactly what I am looking for and need to plan our trip.
