Our puppy - Cooper - female Black Lab - was born 2 days after we took delivery of our R-27 Weatherly. She came home at 8 weeks and we had her on the boat the following week. Now full grown, she can't wait to run down our dock and jump on the boat. We keep a collapsible crate in the port midships. Crate training, obedience and a respect for the water have been the keys to keeping us all calm on board. She loves dingy rides. Anchoring out, or docking at guest piers, either way, she's game. Beach time, island hikes and pet friendly resorts like Roche Harbor with its 5 acre dog park are essential in helping her burn off energy, to compensate for spending all day in the limited space on board.
