I have located a manufacturer that will build custom hardtops to cover the cockpit of the R-29. Currently Maureen and I along with one other owner have expressed interest in this. If you are interested, please let me know. Once we surpass four ordered tops, the costs drop considerably due to the overall cost of producing the mold.
The top will look identical to the smaller hardtop that the boat comes equipped with. It will have four overhead lights. It will be capable of holding 500 pounds. The forward support will be in the same place as the standard smaller hardtop.
The aft will be supported with an inverted "V" that will have horizontal steps welded in. You will be able to have it color matched to your vessel.
The surface will be non skid with a built in "gutter" to drain the water to the stern.
To get the lowest cost, you will need to take your vessel to La Connor Washington for installation. You can have the top shipped to other locations if need be. In the event you choose to have the top shipped, you will have to pay the shipping and handling charges. The top could be a DIY job as the installation is very simple.
Currently the projected cost is between $4,000.00 and $6,000.00. The lower cost is based on four or more tops being ordered at the same time.
