Cutwater 26 cabin hatch

I have a Cutwater 26 and would like to increase the airflow in the cabin. The hatches open to the sideways relative to the bow. Would like to turn them 90 degress to increase airflow. Any thoughts?

Others have done just that with success. You need to be doubly sure if your trailer her that you have those hatches latched and locked or you will be sorry. The hatches on our Sea Rays always opened forward, we always trailered them with hatches latched and full road covers.
