Interested in the 26s but am having trouble finding information on engine access. The only pictures I am able to fine are of the smaller hatch the exposes the back half the engine and the shaft. Can anyone chime in on how the engine access is and if there are any other hatches.

26 cockpit is shorter than the 28 but the rest of the boat is the same. therefore the engine protrudes into the cabin under the floor. there is a hatch just inside the door to access the engine. Bryan - BBMarine is the resident expert on the Cutwater 26

The C26 with D3 engine location is mostly in the pilot house. I have photos in my album that show step removal going into the cave. This gives good excess to the fwd starboard section of the compartment. The pilothouse floor hatch gives good excess to fwd port section. The issue I have found with this installation is lack of ventilation to the forward section of the compartment and I have experienced above recommended compartment temperatures. C26 with D3 220hp. I have first version added ventilation in my album which proved to help but still not enough. It is still a work in progress. I will post pictures of the complete new ventilation to help other C26 D3 owners to maintain proper compartment temperatures and maintain full performance. Original installation, no ventilation, I have experienced approximately 10% power loss with elevated temperatures.
