Anyone have actual weights on a Cutwater 30 sedan? The specifications list 10,200 lbs dry. I was hoping to find some boaters with actual weights of their outfitted and rigged boats, without the trailer.

Thanks, Kip

Just finished having it weighed, 13,500 lbs. That is with 130 out of 180 gallons of fuel, 40 out of 80 gallons of water and freshly pumped black water tank.

Wow, that's a very big difference from the factory published dry weight!
Correcting for fuel to get the fuel tank dry lowers weight by 780 pounds. Correcting for fresh water to have tank dry lowers another 320 pounds. Net decreases to get a dry boat is 1,100 pounds.
Starting at your boats 13,500 pounds and correcting to dry weight gets you down to 12,400 pounds.
That's 2,200 pounds OVER the factory's published dry weight of 10,200 pounds.
That's a lot of optional equipment and/or on board gear or the factory needs a new scale!

I'm scratching my head on the weight too. I know the boat is loaded with options, it was the boat show boat. The big weights I know are two a/c's, generator, solar, anchor package, aft steering and autopilot. I can't imagine radar, twin plotters, etc add that much more. I wish I had a list of what the dry basis weight is and the weights of the options.

First poster here, but have been lurking a little while.

I am curious about this as well. Does that weight include the trailer weight? The reason I ask, is I am looking to buy a new truck this year and I am planning on getting a C-28 or C-30 in the next few years. So while I need a new truck now (and will be somewhat of a daily driver for a few years), I would like to get one that will be capable of towing/stopping the C-30. I am looking at a 2018 F-250 Diesel. The F-350 I'm afraid will be too much of a rough ride to be a daily driver, but I'll go that route if I need to. The 250 has the towing capacity to tow the boat, but I'm not sure if the payload capacity will be enough for the C-30 and my passengers/gear. Do any of you guys have a reliable tongue weight for a wet/loaded C-30 I can use to help me in my truck search?

I can't add to this discussion, but want to say what I've done in the past when I've purchased a new RT.

My recent purchase was a new 2018 RT-27/OB (Northwest Edition).

When this boat was delivered to me at my marina it was lifted to the water. The lift had a scale meter so it was possible to know the weight of the boat as delivered.

The boat had around 60 gallons of gasoline fuel, and maybe 20 gallons of fresh water and an empty holding tank. The boat also had the F300 and kicker 9.9 HP engine installed.

The RT's "Dry Weight" specs for the R-27/OB is stated as 7,000 lbs. I'm unsure if the engine weights are included in this 7,000 lbs.

The combined engine weights would be around 600 lbs at the most.
The 60 gallons of fuel would be 6.3 x 60 = 378 lbs
The 20 gallons of fresh water would be 8.34 x 20 = 167 lbs
A new RT boat comes with a full set of fenders, lines, boat hook, a bag of manual and a bunch of life jackets. I estimate this to be around 100 lbs.

Thus summing the above items the extra weight is around 600+378+167+100 or some 1,245 lbs.

Adding the 7,000 and 1,245 we get to 8,245 lbs.

Guess what the lift scale displayed for my new R-27/OB when it was lifted up off its trailer ? It was 8,300 lbs. 🙂 😱 😎

The D6 weighs about 1541 pounds which get us closer to the actual measured weight of 13,500 -- tho I always assumed that the engine would be included in the "dry weight".

To soften the ride of that 350, try Sulastic spring shackles. They did the job on my 3500 Dodge.
