I have a question about using down riggers on a Cutwater. I would also like to use a crab pot puller. The crab pot puller I have can be used with a Canon down rigger base (they are available for Scotty down rigger bases also). So I would want to install two down rigger bases and have 12 VDC within a couple of feet of them.

Anybody have experience or pictures?

I have been a Livingston fan since I bought my 10 footer back in 1973. She's not too pretty anymore, but she has had a lot of fish & crab hauled over her sides. (The down riggers are used on my buddies 20' Trophy not the Livingston)

While there appears to be a reasonable number of Cutwaters out there, very few of their owners seem to frequent Tugnuts for some reason.
I don't rate your chances of getting pictures very highly, but I don't see that there would be any technical problem with making the installation.
Personally though, I don't ever anticipate swinging crab pots in over the side of our C28. 😉

send me your email address and I will send you some pics of my boat...

I just read of your concerns about down riggers and crab pot pullers. I have a 28, I have two Scotty down riggers, and a Ace pot puller, They work great, lots of crab and shrimp have come into the cockpit, the Scotty's need a riser to clear the rails, but that's it. Good luck fishing, LazyLberg @ gmail .com
