I just noticed that Cutwater no longer offers Yanmar diesels and has replaced them with Volvo D4s. What was the reason for the switch and will Ranger follow suit?

After last years coolant hose debacle and today's experience with warning horns and the no oil pressure message, followed by 4 hrs of 30 mph wind while getting back to the dock w/ a 5 hp Honda, I'm rapidly losing my enthusiasm for my Yanmar.

I have no inside knowledge, but I'd guess that the reason is financial, i.e Volvo offered a deal that was hard to refuse.
However, I've read that the Yanmar would continue to be available as an option at extra cost on the Cutwater, but would remain the standard power plant for the Ranger Tugs.

The R 31 has a Volvo D 4 300 H.P. As far as I know the 21-29s will remain Yanmar for the forseeable future .
