Curious what a rigged Cutwater 28 and trailer weigh.
The Factory spec for dry weight 8,000 lbs appears to be well under what they actually weigh.
Maybe dry weight spec is just hull without engine and accessories?
In California any trailer (non travel trailer) with GVWR of 10,001lbs or more requires a commercial class A with restricted 88 drivers license.
I was also suprised to learn my 2008 Dodge 1 ton 4x4, diesel GCWR is only 21k pounds because of 3.73 axle.
So my true towing capacity is closer to trailer with GVWR 12,000 lbs or less.
Are these boats shipping on 15k trailers?
Thanks

Found my answer by seeing Long Beach Boats selling two cutwater 28 trailers, they are 11k gvw with 9k capacity, and in the comments they said they are selling because owners moved up to 14k trailers.Guess I'll start looking at the 26, 25sc and 27.

Just for your info. My C - 28 with less than 400 lbs of personal gear (I actually weighed all of it) scaled 12 300 lbs on a two axle trailer (trailer weight 1,873 lbs). Cutwaters now come with 3 axle trailers (@ 2,100 lbs). I do not have a generator or A/C.
There are a lot of thread's on this subject.
Good luck, either boat will be a pleasure to own.
Dave
