I wanted to document the process for replacing the wiper blades on a Cutwater. I was not able to find a concise guide on Tugnuts and had to search several sites such as the Cutwater user group on Facebook and Chat GPT to get an understanding of how to remove the original wipers. This may have been obvious to many of you but it was not to me.
I have a 2022 Cutwater C32 C purchased in Aug 2025. The boat had two previous owners.
These are the original wipers that came on the boat. The wiper had a lever that needed to be pried up. I had to spray it with silicon to get it loose.
I used a small screw driver to pry up the lever. The first unlocked with no problem. The second one broke and each side of the bracket had to be pried up separately.
Once the lever was up it was easy to slide the old wiper out. The wiper arm is a standard J hook found on most cars.
I used a standard 22” automotive wiper. There were other recommendations for Roca wipers from Fisheries Supply but were twice the cost plus shipping. I did not see the benefit of using the OEM version when I plan to replace them yearly.
The RainX wipers easily snapped into place and seem just as secure as the original.
I hope this helps others in the future.
