I have a CW28 on order, and would very much like to convert the starboard rear window from a fixed pane to a slider / screen unit, with the opening closest the centerline. Any chance of that being done during the build?

Hello,

Unfortunately this is something we don't offer as the window hasn't been engineered for that option. This would require us to have a window made and fitted for that area. I hope this helps.

Thank you,

I'd be willing to pay an upcharge if you folks were willing to have the window made. Sure would be easier than trying to do it after..Who knows, it might become a popular option...

Hoping someone will also comment that has had it done aftermarket about how...

I like the idea! I would have ordered that option if it was available when i ordered my 2017 CW!!

I think you should proceed cautiously with this option. It will take some awareness on the part of crew if this window is opened underway. Pretty easy to draw exhaust fumes back into the cabin especially with a Bimini.

Noted. The motivation is twofold: Open during cruising, in addition to the door, or instead of an open door if bugs are present, and rainy day / night at the dock - this would be the only screened window that could be opened and not let rain in (with the bimini up...)

Can you have a screen made that Velcro’s to the door frame when it is open?

I have such a screen on my door on my 2012 CW...

I just had a screen for the door made as well. Great to have!

We converted the privacy curtain into a screen. It is a needed item on Lake Michigan . The flies will come aboard by the hundreds while cruising off shore.
