D4 260 Air Filter Housing

I replaced my air filter on my D4 260 today, well almost.

After struggling for nearly an hour, I could not get the two top latches to shut. Bottom latches snapped in place fine; but the top ones refused to latch. They act like they are too short. Checked fit and clearances several times. The housing is secure against the intake frame.

Afraid to put any more force on them as they are already distorting.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Have you tried to reinsatll the old one and see if there are issues? If there are no issues see if you can determine the difference between the two.

Yea, tried the old filter. The old and new are identical. Checked the fit of the housing to the mating surface and it seems to be secure and tight against it. Bottom latches work fine. Frustratingly simple issue : /

BTW, the replacement wire latches are $40.
